For every Filipino maritime professional, having the correct and up-to-date documentation is paramount. The Seafarer's Identity Document (SID) and Seafarer's Record Book (SRB) are two critical documents that streamline your career onboard and ensure compliance with international maritime labor conventions. WMSI is here to guide you through the straightforward application process via MARINA’s Online Appointment System.
Seafarer's Identity Document (SID): This is a standardized, machine-readable identification document, fully compliant with International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions. Featuring a Machine-Readable Zone (MRZ), UV print, and biometrics, the SID is essential for shore leave and international boarding, simplifying identity verification for seafarers worldwide.
Seafarer's Record Book (SRB): While your existing Seafarer's Identity and Record Book (SIRB) remains valid until its expiry, the SRB serves as a dedicated record book. It meticulously documents your employment history and onboard service, creating a comprehensive log of your professional maritime journey.
Applying for your SID and/or SRB through MARINA's online portal is designed for efficiency. Follow these steps carefully:
Click "START" and agree to the terms and conditions.
Proceed to choose your preferred application location (e.g., MARINA-NCR, POEA).
Select your desired date and time for the appointment.
